This policy explains what we collect when you use coldmurdermystery.com and why.
Free case, no account: we store your progress (solved objectives, pins, notes) in your browser only. Nothing is sent to us except the answers you submit, which are checked on our server and not stored with any identity.
Rooms: when you create or join a room we store the room code, the display name you choose, and the shared room state (objectives, pins, notes) for up to 2 days, then delete it.
Account: if you sign in (email link or Google) we store your email address, a user ID, and sign-in timestamps. With Google sign-in we receive your email and name from Google; we do not receive your password or contacts.
Purchases: payments are processed by Stripe. We store the product purchased, the Stripe session and customer IDs, and your email so we can restore access. We never see or store card numbers.
Technical: our hosting and backend providers keep standard server logs (IP address, browser, time) for security.
To let you play, keep your progress, share rooms with friends, verify purchases and restore access, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Supabase (database, authentication, EU region), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Hostinger (hosting), Google (optional sign-in). Each processes data under its own privacy terms.
We use browser local storage for progress and sign-in session. We set no advertising or analytics cookies.
You can ask us to export or delete your account and purchase records at any time via the contact form, from the address you signed up with. EU/UK users have rights under GDPR, including access, correction, deletion and complaint to a supervisory authority.
The service is intended for ages 14 and up. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
