Cold Murder Mystery ("we", "us") is operated by the account holder of coldmurdermystery.com. Contact via the form at coldmurdermystery.com/contact.html.
This policy explains what we collect when you use coldmurdermystery.com and why.
Playing, no account: we store your progress (pins, notes, timeline and your accusation) in your browser only. Nothing is sent to us except the answers you submit, which are checked on our server and not stored with any identity.
Rooms: when you create or join a room we store the room code, the display name you choose, and the shared room state (pins, notes, timeline and accusation) for up to 2 days, then delete it.
Technical: our hosting and backend providers keep standard server logs (IP address, browser, time) for security.
To let you play, keep your progress, share rooms with friends, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Supabase (database, servers in the United States; transfers from the EU/UK are covered by the provider's standard contractual clauses), Resend (replies to the contact form), Hostinger (hosting). Each processes data under its own privacy terms.
Fonts and scripts are served from our own server. We do not load Google Fonts, analytics, advertising or social media scripts, so opening a page does not send your IP address to Google or any other third party. The only outside connection is to our database provider when you check an accusation or play in a room.
We use browser local storage for your progress. We set no advertising or analytics cookies.
You can ask us to export or delete any data we hold about you at any time via the contact form. EU/UK users have rights under GDPR, including access, correction, deletion and complaint to a supervisory authority.
The service is intended for ages 14 and up. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We will post any changes on this page with a new date.
